Your role and responsibilities

Innovation (approx. 55%)

• Contribute to projects within the R&D pipeline for breathable and non-breathable backsheet, laminate, and pouch film solutions
• Support the internal and external qualification of new products at RKW sites and at customer locations worldwide
• Collaborate on R&D projects in other hygiene product segments across our global hygiene sites
• Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate trials at pilot scale
• Develop new testing methods in close cooperation with our QHSE department where required
• Independently monitor trends in raw materials, machinery, and finished products to identify new development opportunities, particularly in sustainability, innovation, and cost optimization

Customer Support (approx. 20%)

• Provide technical support to customers on all product-related questions within the breathable and non-breathable backsheet, laminate, and pouch film segment
• Participate in internal meetings as well as meetings with customers and suppliers
• Represent RKW at trade fairs, conferences, and industry events
• Support our Customer Service team with technical inquiries

Interface between Operations / AE / R&D (approx. 15%)

• Support our global Operations team across all sites manufacturing products in this segment
• Contribute to process optimization, run-to-target activities, and technical problem-solving

Patent Management (approx. 5%)

• Support the drafting of intellectual property applications in cooperation with the Group R&D team
• Review patents and patent applications from competitors
• Assist in identifying possible design-around solutions

Training (approx. 5%)

• Prepare training materials
• Conduct product training sessions for internal and external audiences

Your profile and qualifications

• Successfully completed degree at a university or university of applied sciences in plastics engineering, process engineering, or a comparable field of study
• Strong technical expertise, particularly in film extrusion, embossing, printing, and siliconizing
• Experience in the hygiene industry and a solid understanding of customer and end-user requirements would be an advantage
• Sound project management skills
• Basic business administration knowledge
• Good written and spoken English skills (minimum level B2)
• Independent and structured way of working
• High level of initiative and a hands-on mindset
• Analytical thinking, strategic foresight, and the ability to turn challenges into ideas and solutions
• Strong customer focus and the ability to represent customer interests internally while also communicating RKW’s interests effectively to customers
